Here’s a first announcement: Awakening Galatea, one of Newman’s verse dramas which appears in the Five Selected Plays by J. D. Newman anthology is being produced as a Main Season production at Utah Valley University November 9-21, 2026 in the UVU Student Theatre, next to the Noorda Center for the Performing Arts on the Orem Campus. Performances in the intimate theatre are likely to sell out, so get your tickets in advance at http://www.uvu.edu/thenoorda under “Academic Productions. The play runs about 85 minutes, and the playwright will be creating a 50 minute version of the script, which requires a cast of 1 male actor and 8 female actors, that could be produced by high schools as a region and state competition play.
